The Wolha Cultural Foundation will host its 21th regular concert on September 29th at the
Namsan Gugakdang.
Entitled `Songs of the Royal Court`, this concert will feature court music from the Joseon
Dynasty as well as music once used for palace rites and ceremonies.
Traditional Korean court music is not easy to perform since it requires a large number of
performers and instruments, so this concert will provide a rare chance to experience the d
istinguished sounds of the royal Joseon court.
The Wolha Cultural Foundation was founded in 1991 with the purpose of preserving Korean
traditional music and supporting young Gugak artists. Its founder Kim Wol-ha was a designated
human cultural asset famous for her masteries in various forms of Korean traditional arts.
